Chris Rubens is a renowned Canadian backcountry skier known in the ski community for heli-skiing remote regions worldwide. Recently, Chris surprised the ski world by transitioning from heli-skiing to sustainable farming, purchasing a plot of land in Revelstoke, BC. Chris’s shift began in 2016 after a trip to Greenland to film the documentary Guilt Trip.

25 years ago, Winston Bushnell (skipper), George Hone (first mate) and I (artist/writer) sailed the Northwest Passage aboard Dove III. Winston was a well-seasoned mariner, having sailed around the world during the ‘70s with his family aboard the small sailboat, Dove, which was rolled over off South Africa by a 60-foot wave. George was an experienced sailor. Although I was living on a 42-foot ketch Dreamer II, I was still a novice.
