    Seventy members of the Iowa House have called for a special legislative session to override Governor Kim Reynolds veto of a bill that would have set new rules for carbon pipelines. Howver, Senate Republican Leader Jack Whitver last week said a majority of Senate Republicans “would not be interested in any attempt to override Governor Reynolds’ veto.” State Senator Sandy Salmon of Janesville is not in that majority.

MiEnergy says their scholarship program reflects the core cooperative principle of commitment to community by recognizing high school seniors who demonstrate cooperative spirit through service to others. The scholarships are funded through unclaimed capital credits that would otherwise be turned over to the state.

    The Floyd County Board of Supervisors met for the first time Tuesday (06.17) since the passing of Supervisor Dennis Keifer. The 73-year-old Keifer died June 10th after suffering a stroke. First-term Supervisor Boyd Campbell reflected on his colleague and friend he used to ride the school bus with as kids in Rudd. Campbell said joining Keifer on the Board was a reunion of sorts.
