Carter opted to swim a time-trial 50m butterfly in the final heat of Thursday night’s men’s 100m freestyle heats, before swimming down the remainder of the race at the National Aquatic Centre in Couva.

NIKOLI BLACKMAN and Dylan Carter are expected to face off in the final of the men’s 100 metres freestyle, on Friday, at the Aquatics Sports Association of Trinidad and Tobago (ASATT) National Open Long Course Swimming Championships at the National Aquatic Centre in Balmain, Couva. The four-day meet starts today from 6 p.m. with the preliminaries of that event among others. Blackman, Trinidad and Tobago’s rising collegiate swimming star, returned home yesterday.

CONCACAF president Victor Montagliani arrived yesterday afternoon on a courtesy call from the Trinidad and Tobago Football Association (TTFA) and is expected to pay a site visit today to the Home of Football in Couva. Yesterday, the CONCACAF boss was also expected to attend a TTPFL fixture at the Ken Cooke Ground, Long Circular, St James, before fulfilling a dinner commitment with the TTFA executive.
