ALBANY - Shadell Millinghaus’ return to Washington Avenue Armory was a short one on Tuesday night. The New York Phoenix guard left early in the second quarter with a hamstring injury in his first road game against the Albany Patroons, his former team in The Basketball League. The Siena men’s basketball team continued to remake its frontcourt on Monday. The Saints announced the signing of 6-foot-9, 225-pound forward Tasman Goodrick, a transfer from Division II Gannon in Pennsylvania. Goodrick, who is from Sydney, Australia, averaged 15.6 points and 10.7 rebounds per game this season for Gannon. He ranked second in Division II with 20 double-doubles.

Siena men’s basketball coach Gerry McNamara lost to the University at Albany in his introduction to the Albany Cup rivalry. He’d like another shot at the Great Danes, who beat the Saints at UAlbany’s Broadview Center this season. “I think the game is good for the area,” McNamara said last week. “I think it’s good for both programs. Former Siena men's basketball coach Fran McCaffery has reached important life mileposts at The Palestra, the basketball cathedral in his hometown of Philadelphia. As a child, he accompanied his family to watch games there every Saturday. McCaffery hoped to be able to play at The Palestra one day.
