Part of the Reconnecting Runcorn programme, the Dukesfield Street Art Project saw international muralists Liam Bononi and Aylo Nomad arrive to create striking street art inspired by workshops and contributions from the local community.

Ashley School wants to expand facilities to accommodate more pupils. (Image: Google) A special school in Widnes has submitted expansion plans to enable it to accept more pupils. Ashley High School on Cawfield Avenue has submitted an application for a single storey extension with four new classrooms, which would enable it to accommodate an additional 40 children. Last year Halton Council signed off an increase of pupil places for 11-19-year-olds from 112 to 152 at Ashley.

(Image: Google) Staff at a Runcorn high school could strike in protest over planned redundancies and curriculum restructure. The World reported recently how Ormiston Bolingbroke Academy (OBA) was planning the restructure - which would come into effect in September - with staff redundancies and a streamlined curriculum all on the cards.
