Nearly everyone will be dry for the morning commute, but clouds are quickly taking over the sky. By the lunch hour, there will be some hit and miss rain moving into eastern Nebraska. The scattered rain will expand into western Iowa and northwest Missouri in the afternoon. Those that stay dry long enough will warm into the mid 70s. Most of the rain will end early tonight with about half of us seeing rain at some point during the day, meaning about half of us stay dry.

Bocce is a great way for the kids to pass some time over summer break. Even if you don't have an official bocce ball set, you can replace the standard balls with things you may already have in the garage like baseballs, golf balls, or tennis balls. It's best to have one ball that is different than the other balls... so a golf ball and 8 tennis balls would do the trick. We met up with Suzanne Larson, one of the founders of Game On Omaha, to learn the rules at Turner Park in Midtown Crossing.

It's a foggy start to our Wednesday, but the fog should clear quickly after the morning commute. The sunshine then takes over for the lunch hour with low 70s. This afternoon will bring a few more clouds as we warm up into the upper 70s with light wind. Clouds start to move back in Thursday morning as we cool off into the upper 50s. Those clouds will continue to thicken up into the lunch hour and begin to squeeze out a couple isolated pockets of light rain.

By the lunch hour, most of the scattered rain will be along and south of I-80. The rain will continue to dry out from north to south through the afternoon, with most of us drying out for the evening commute. It will be breezy and A LOT cooler with temperatures in the upper 50s to 60 most of the day.

The hot weather continues today with a high near 90. It will be mostly sunny, but there is still a little Canadian wildfire smoke in the sky. It will also be a little breezy. Around 7 this evening, storms ahead of our next cold front will start moving into northeast Nebraska. Some of these could be strong or severe. A couple pockets of large hail and areas of damaging wind will be the main concern with any severe storms.
