Garmin has officially launched the $170 Index Sleep Monitor, a new wearable designed to track sleep from the upper arm rather than the wrist. In the US, it ships in 3 to 5 weeks and comes in two sizes, S/M and L/XL. The launch doesn’t bring surprises. The device had already leaked in full a week ago, and everything from the design to the feature list was known in advance.

Device matchup,  Smartwatch 5 min read Zepp Health just announced the Square version of its Active 2 watch. It shares a lot with the Round model I reviewed earlier this year, but there are a handful of differences worth noting. At first glance, the new Square variant looks like a simple form factor change. But it’s more accurate to say it matches the Round Premium model in most hardware respects.

The Luna Ring 2 is scheduled to arrive in July. Noise has confirmed the release window after first previewing the device at CES 2025, where it picked up a CES Innovation Award. The most practical addition is the charging case. It can store up to six full ring charges, extending usability up to 30 days without needing a cable. This makes it more travel-friendly and solves one of the typical pain points of smart rings. The design also gets a bit more refined.

Something is coming from Polar on September 3rd. And judging by the teaser, it’s going to ditch the screen entirely. Will this be another Whoop competitor? The teaser doesn’t leave much room for guessing. “Not another screen… Promise.” That pretty much rules out a smartwatch. Polar hasn’t shared any details on specs or features yet, but the wording tells a story. Buzzing and scrolling are out. What’s coming sounds like a stripped-back way to monitor sleep and fitness.

OnePlus has announced a new variant of its Watch 3 with a 43mm diameter and a completely different design. It’s officially arriving on July 8th, and from the looks of it, this isn’t just a scaled-down version of the original. The Watch 3 I reviewed in April measured 46.6 x 47.6 x 11.75 mm and had a bold, masculine look. It wasn’t exactly subtle. The new version softens all of that. The body is rounder, more neutral, and feels less aggressive visually. OnePlus didn’t just shrink it.
