We are only halfway through the year, and it has already been defined by a number of environmental disasters. From tornado-causing heatwaves in Texas to unusual flooding in California, these incidents have made it clear that the climate crisis is here. These cases also serve as glaring examples of how environmental degradation is exacerbating existing social inequities and is posing severe economic and health threats to many working-class and low-income communities across the United States.
