Rod Wood was feeling spicy Monday. Wood, the Detroit Lions president, took a jab at the divisional rival Green Bay Packers while speaking at the annual NFL draft luncheon hosted at the Detroit Economic Club. Green Bay is set to host the 2025 NFL Draft this week, one year after the event was a smashing success in Detroit. Add another notch to the Detroit Pistons' NBA record playoff winless streak. The Pistons looked like they were on their way to an upset, before a 21-0 New York Knicks eruption in the fourth quarter turned an eight-point deficit into a 13-point lead with under five minutes remaining. That was enough to stun the Pistons in a Knicks 123-112 win at Madison Square Garden in Game 1 of the best-of-seven first-round playoff series.

The Detroit Pistons lost two points on a controversial play Saturday evening late in the third quarter against the New York Knicks in Game 1 of their first-round series in the NBA playoffs. With the Pistons leading 80-76, Tim Hardaway Jr. ran down the court at Madison Square Garden for what appeared to be a two-handed dunk. The ball went to the bottom of the net, but then popped out, as he was hit on the right arm by Josh Hart.
