Halton police have laid multiple charges after two suspects were found in possession of a car in Hamilton that was stolen in Burlington in mid-January. On Thursday evening officers attempted to stop the stolen Toyota 4Runner on Parkdale Avenue North when the male driver of the car sped off and collided with two police vehicles. He continued driving north on Main Street and lost control of the car at Strathearne Avenue. The man and a female passenger then attempted to flee the police on foot.

OPP West Region are asking for any witnesses of a morning collision turned fatality near Simcoe to come forward. The incident happened on St. John’s Road West and the driver of the car died at the scene. Police closed the road between Norfolk Street South and Hillcrest Road South for the investigation. #NorfolkOPP is on scene at a serious collision involving a sedan on St. John’s Road West in #NorfolkCounty. Sadly, the driver was pronounced deceased at the scene.

A Hamilton man has been arrested for the violent, random assault of a 70-year-old man in downtown Hamilton. Tian Hui Zhan, 32, allegedly assaulted the Hamilton man earlier today with a collapsible baton. The attack happened in the Barton Street East and Birch Street area. The victim was sent to hospital with life-threatening injuries, including injuries to the head. Police say his condition has since stabilized. Zhan has been charged with aggravated assault.
