PGD or Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis is a diagnostic technique used in Assisted Reproduction to ensure that embryos are free of genetic abnormalities, including genetic diseases and chromosomal disorders. PGD is used as an intermediate step in the IVF process, namely when the embryos have been in culture for 3 to 5 days, the stage of embryo development at which we can conduct a blastomere biopsy.
