Largely extending the 2017 tax law, which skewed benefits toward wealthy individuals and corporations, the legislation has many provisions that companies pushed hard for. It also includes some of the provisions President Donald Trump wanted, such as reducing income tax on overtime and tips.

House Republicans are close to revealing a long-awaited tax bill, which is set to extend cuts from their 2017 law that expire at the end of this year. Lawmakers are eyeing energy credits from the Democrats’ 2022 tax-and-climate law to help pay for the cuts.

Longtime IRS official Trish Turner will now lead the agency’s digital assets unit with the exit of two crypto leads, according to a person familiar with the situation. The change comes as Sulolit “Raj” Mukherjee and Seth Wilks—two private-sector leaders who were brought on to help the IRS build up its enforcement and reporting of digital assets—leave the agency.
