He's put quite a few demons and F1 paddock doubts to bed with tremendous overtakes in Imola and a sensational pole position in Monaco under extreme pressure from Charles Leclerc, Oscar Piastri, Lewis Hamilton, and Max Verstappen. He followed this up with a largely faultless drive to victory around the streets despite plenty of chaos and challenges.

McLaren might have to make an early choice to back Oscar Piastri or Lando Norris in this year's F1 title race according to Sky Sports F1's Martin Brundle. Piastri leads Norris by 16 points ahead of this weekend's Emilia Romagna Grand Prix, and McLaren's perfect Sprint weekend in terms of scoring has left Max Verstappen 32 points off the championship lead.

Bahrain gave us a great race once again, and positioned McLaren's Oscar Piastri as potentially the favourite for this year's world championship. Piastri has largely recovered the points deficit from his unfortunate excursion, and lengthy challenge in getting his car off the wet grass, in his hometown race in Melbourne, and he continues to add a calm confidence to his considerable speed.

Remembering the crazy 20mph Lego car race in Miami last weekend when the F1 drivers never stopped laughing, and watching the BTCC/Caterham/Mini races at Brands Hatch today, reminds that it’s close racing which is entertaining and thrilling, not simply fast racing. I bet Max V

Jezza it’s a bit like a harvest, sometimes you have to be patient. From four starts this season we’ve had four different winners. Some football matches are nil-nil. Some are last minute 5-4 thrillers. That’s sport. I know you love F1 really. Change the cars, not the tracks.

I’ve had an idea to make F1 racing more consistently exciting. Don’t use tracks where overtaking is difficult.
