The European Commission has on 26 April 2023 made two proposals for the revision of pharmaceutical legislation – a proposal for a new directive and a new regulation. According to the Commission, one of the main objectives of the legislative revision is to create a single market for medicines that ensures that all patients across the EU have timely and equitable access to safe, effective, and affordable medicines.

We are excited to share the latest development on the Unified Patent Court. Italy, France, and Germany have now successfully reached an agreement on the creation of the Milan seat of the Central Division, replacing the former London section. The Administrative Committee of the Unified Patent Court took a significant step forward on June 26, 2023, when it issued a decision to the UPCA.
