    U.S.-based Powell Electronics has announced it will cease all shipments from its Clane facility to Israel, following sustained public pressure and protests at its Clane warehouse. In a statement issued to Kfm, a company spokesperson said, “There is no more product ever going to leave Ireland for Israel". The move comes in response to growing scrutiny over the company’s alleged ties to Israel’s defence industry and escalating local opposition.

    A group of protestors have gathered outside Powell Electronics in Clane to block a shipment of components allegedly being sent to the largest supplier of weapons to the Israel Defense Forces. Powell Electronics, which has a facility in Clane, sent two shipments of components to the Elbit Systems Cyclone plant in Karmiel, Israel in October and November 2024, according to Editor of The Ditch Eoghan McNeill who spoke to Kfm last week. The facility makes parts for the F-35 and F-16 fighter jets.

That's according to documents seen by Kfm that were provided to us by investigative website The Ditch.     A Garda forensic team has been deployed to an apartment on Stanhope Street, just off Emily Square in Athy following the discovery of a body. Kfm understands that the body of a male was found this morning under what are believed to be suspicious circumstances. The scene has been preserved by Gardai. The area has been cordoned off and access to surrounding roads is restricted. Anyone with information has been asked to contact Athy Garda station. More to follow.
