Newton Aycliffe’s playoff push continues. They sit fourth with just three games remaining of the season. Their last home game sees the visit of second place Dunston on Easter Monday (21st) at 1pm. Before that, Brian Atkinson’s side make the long trip down to second bottom Sherwood Colliery on Saturday before ending the season at fellow strugglers Ossett on 26 April. Cleethorpes Town have already been crowned champions. The teams in 2nd to 5th places will playoff for the remaining promotion place.

The 2025 Aycliffe Make Your Mark Awards will take place at Hardwick Hall Hotel in three weeks. And the organisers have confirmed its host for the evening – popular BBC Tees radio presenter Gary Philipson. During his radio career, Gary has been a gardening expert, touchside football reporter and now the MFC Matchday Fanzone host at Middlesbrough FC games. He was also the presenter, for five years, of the Late Night Zoo phone-in on TFM.

POTM and opposition POTM went to Lennox. PPOTM was Nate. Under 9’s Reds – Entertained Cleveland Juniors in a thrilling game with goals from Thomas (2) and Fox. POTM was Orig who was outstanding in goal, whilst Leo picked up PPOTM for his performance.
