Huang Zhiyang, the fugitive alleged boss of a major human trafficking and cyberfraud operation in the Philippines, purchased a Cypriot passport and later used it to create the “mother corporation” that authorities say hosted the online scam centers. Philippine authorities have charged Huang Zhiyang with human trafficking, and sued him for alleged money laundering. They have also frozen at least five of his bank accounts in the Philippines.

A Chinese national accused of stealing millions from investors after the collapse of a cryptocurrency exchange also owned companies with businessmen linked to major money laundering investigations in Southeast Asia — including one who has been convicted, and another suspect on the run. Hong Kong police have called Su Weiyi the “mastermind” behind Atom Asset Exchange (AAX), which had more than two million users before collapsing in 2022.

Some years ago, I came across a very useful little device – a thumb (flash) drive that also had the ability to record sound. It powered up simply by being slotted into a USB port. Inserting the drive did not raise any suspicion that I was recording. Sometimes I used this overtly, such as when obtaining informed consent or giving instructions that were vital to be followed.
