According to the latest official data from the Ministry of Health [7], the increase in the consumption of anxiolytics in Spain in 2021 compared to 2018 was lower than that observed in our study in Asturias (5.9% vs. 8.7%, respectively), and the same is true for the consumption of hypnotics and sedatives (6.6% vs. 15.3%) as shown in Table 4.
