Irish brand Landa Bags has a storied history. Inspired by her Italian grandfather who fought the Nazis and subsequently built a cobbler’s business from scratch, designer Silvana learned about leathermaking and hand-stitching from her grandparents. Enter Landa, exquisitely crafted supple leather bags with two new styles for the autumn winter season. We love the CAOBA quilted bag. At €325, it’s convenient, chic and light to boot. landabags.com.

For the first few years of my life, I lived in a communal house in Howth with multiple families. They were all working in yoga or holistic medicine — it was really fun to be a child of that. We used to set up our teddy bears against a wall in the kitchen and pretend that we were teaching them or doing a TV program. She was always in charge and I was her assistant. We laugh about that now. My mum had a boutique down the road in Foxrock Village. She always managed to have something delicious to eat for us.

Brendan Courtney and Sonya Lennon love Cork. They love it so much that they chose the Irish Examiner’s ieStyle Live event at City Hall, Cork on October 26 to launch their debut collection for Kilkenny Design. Their designs will be showcased on the catwalk at the sell-out event. “Cork is my spiritual home,” says Brendan, as he returns to the city to MC ieStyle Live for the third time. “Cork people are the nicest — just the best craic.
