Decomposition method by Sudharsanan & Bijlsma () The concept of a decomposition analysis is well described in the paper by Sudharsanan & Bijlsma (2021). They included a figure, much like Figure 1, to further articulate the objective of a decomposition analysis. Assume that there is an observed association between a group variable (A) and an outcome variable (R). Furthermore, assume that the distribution of some potential mediator variable (M) differs between groups.
