Graduation is barely over, and the community is in full swing with summer activities. There will be the usual gearing up of live theater, including the Pagosa Springs Center for the Arts and its great lineup of shows all throughout the summer, and the summer production of “Matilda” from Curtains Up Pagosa. The 19th Hole Concert series returns for its June run on June 5, providing live music at the Pagosa Springs Golf Club every Thursday evening.

Now that Memorial Day has passed, the community is welcoming and bracing for our influx of tourists. Many a business is glad of that transition, after the doldrums of April. We have been spending time talking about supporting our businesses, especially in the downtown district. There are more events, programs, signage and information that is coming on board to help us navigate the summer downtown.

Springtime in the Rockies has delayed our flower delivery this year. Due to the varying weather conditions, both growers would like to delay delivering baskets this year until the frost threat has passed. 12″ baskets can be picked up tomorrow, Tuesday, May 27 after 12 noon. Pickup is at Mary Fisher Park on San Juan St. across from Healing Waters Spa. Pickup for the 16″ baskets will be on Thursday, May 29 after 1:30pm.
