Sony has announced the VENICE 2 Extension System Mini, a new iteration of the popular Rialto expansion unit that allows users to disconnect the sensor block from the body of their VENICE 2 to make the camera more nimble and portable. The Extension System Mini is about 70% smaller and lighter than its predecessor, the VENICE Extension System 2, and features the full-frame 8.6K sensor that has made the VENICE 2 such a popular option for high-end production.

Sony just announced two new camcorders, the HXR-NX800 and the PXW-Z200, both of which offer significant upgrades over their predecessors. Now replacing the replacing the HXR-NX5R, the new HXR-NX800 features several upgrades over its predecessor, including 4K video, an updated zoom lens, Wi-Fi connectivity, and more. The PXW-Z200 offers a similar set of features as the HXR-NX800, as well as SDI broadcast I/O.
