CURIOSITÀ SU UNA STORIA VERAIl film si basa sulla storia vera di Alvin Straight (1920-1996), un contadino americano che nel 1994 intraprese un viaggio a bordo di un tosaerba per andare a trovare il fratello, che aveva avuto un infarto. Si tratta dell'ultimo film interpretato da Richard Farnsworth, che ricevette nel 2000 una nomination agli Oscar come miglior attore protagonista. All'epoca era il l'attore più anziano (79 anni) che avesse mai ricevuto una candidatura all'Oscar in quella categoria.
