The series began with 2-1 and 4-3 losses on Friday before SU won 12-10 and lost 6-2 on Saturday. The Raiders are 17-10 on the season, 4-4 in conference play. Friday’s series opener was a pitcher’s duel, with each team picking up two hits. SU did not have a baserunner until the fifth inning and did not have a hit until senior Gio Calamia had a leadoff single in the final inning.

The men’s team scored 167 points to win their 14th consecutive indoor title, while the women scored 90.5 points to place second behind Slippery Rock. One of the stars for the men’s team was sophomore Tommy Crum Jr., named the event’s Most Valuable Athlete for the men’s side.

The season began with a bang on Friday, as senior Carter Hinds hit a leadoff homerun to give the Raiders a 1-0 lead in the first inning. The offense did not sustain that start, as Catawba won game one 6-4. Graduate Jaxon Dalena got the start on the mound for SU, beginning his season with three no-hit innings.
