    STROUDSBURG — It's sometimes hard to imagine a dominating athlete being nervous before a performance, but even the best of all-time have to find ways to manage nerves before stepping into the spotlight. Anna Kirby is still working to get to that level, but the Stroudsburg High School senior has left her mark in the water, owning several school records in the freestyle, backstroke and butterfly. And she's done it while managing nerves of her own. "I always have nerves before a race," Kirby said.

    EAGLEVILLE — It was an emotional day when Pleasant Valley girls lacrosse traveled to Methacton High School to take on head coach Toni Bush's alma mater. The original reason was so the Bears could challenge themselves with more Philadelphia-area competition, which is overall the strongest in the state. But the new reason meant much more to Bush, so much so that lacrosse, the sport she's been a part of her entire life, was secondary that Saturday afternoon on March 29.

    Finishing last in the Big Ten was already cause for concern regarding Penn State women's basketball, even with a younger roster. But the alarm is ringing loudly as the majority of the roster is in the transfer portal. The Nittany Lions (10-19, 1-17 Big Ten) are slated to only have two returning players from the 2024-25 team: Shaelyn Steele and Vitoria Santana. Jayla Oden and Tamera Johnson aren't returning due to exhausting their eligibility, but everyone else is currently looking for a new home.
