    A gas tank at Christiansted’s Gallows Bay Port prompted the Virgin Islands Port Authority to temporarily evacuate the area and close the port midday Monday. Although no fuel was spilled, the Port Authority, VI Fire and Emergency Services, and the U.S. Coast Guard responded to the incident, a Port Authority spokesperson said. The tank was being transported by Water Spirit Freight Services for delivery to Diageo when an unspecified accident caused the port to be closed.
