The Fort Myers Fringe Festival will take place May 29-June 1 at the Alliance for the Arts in Fort Myers. The Fringe Festival dates back to 1947 in Edinburgh, Scotland, as an alternative festival to the Edinburgh International Festival. The festival was and has continuously been held outside the mainstream eye to give smaller artists a spotlight.

    Some Charlotte County fire rescuers sprang into action to save a cat that found itself in a tight spot. A woman stopped by the Charlotte County Fire/EMS Station Station 8 on Monday needing help getting her feline friend out of a PVC pipe. With the hep of Lt.     A Cape Coral man is recovering after a Bison gored him in the Lake Village area of Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming. On Sunday, at approximately 3:15 p.m., the Cape man was gored by the bison after he approached it too closely, the park said. The man sustained minor injuries and was treated by emergency medical personnel. The incident is currently under investigation, and no further details are available at this time.

    The Fort Myers City Council is planning to review a proposal to move the Costco on Cypress Lake Drive to a new location. Gulfshore Business reported that the current store has outgrown its location at the corner of Cypress Lake Drive and U.S. 41. The proposed new location is near the corner of Metro Parkway and Colonial Boulevard, which is currently a vacant lot. The city council meeting is scheduled to start at 4:30 p.m.
