Here’s what they shared. These artifacts are originally from Practice, a book on design and craft by Figma’s Story Studio and Brand Studio teams. The print edition, which launched at Config 2025, was designed by Other Means, in collaboration with type designer Kia Tasbihgou.

    Spotify has launched a new bespoke brand typeface called Spotify Mix, which the music platform worked with the Berlin type design studio Dinamo to create. The typeface took around 18 months to develop and will, from this week, begin to be seen across all of the brand’s communications and marketing, and within the product itself. It’s even going to replace the font used in the Spotify wordmark. The typeface will replace Spotify Circular, which the music service has used for years.

    Earth Month has just been and gone, and it afforded us at It’s Nice That the opportunity to reflect on a visual trend we’ve been noticing with increasing regularity: graphic design and illustration taking their cues from the natural world. Recently we’ve seen beautiful coffee-table books inspired by mycelium networks, typefaces that have been grown in a petri dish like fungi, and entire visual identities designed to resemble leaves and sinuous stems.

    This year’s identity threw up a particularly intriguing challenge. It was designed to feel chaotic and fluid, but it also had to be incredibly systematised and functional, packaged up into a toolkit to then be executed by countless teams worldwide. “That was one of the challenges this year: How can we create something that feels so fundamentally fluid and organic, but as a system?” Rasmus notes.
