Malignaggi has signed a three-fight deal with BYB Extreme and is expected to fight in the UK in September. His last gloved boxing match was in London, an eight-round KO loss to Sam Eggington at the O2 Arena on the undercard of Tony Bellew-David Haye in March, 2017. That left his record 36-8 (7).

    THERE’S another clash between heavyweights from England and Ukraine before Daniel Dubois and Oleksandr Usyk decide the undisputed championship at Wembley Stadium next month. Neilson Boxing and TM 14 have matched unbeatens Gideon Antwi and Dorin Krasmaru against each other over six rounds on their show at the York Hall on Saturday, June 28. Antwi, a North Londoner with Ghanaian heritage, is 2-0, Krasmaru is 4-0 (2 KOs) and both have solid amateur pedigrees.

    DANNY ‘Hurricane’ Quartermaine has banked the rounds he needed ahead of the biggest night of his career. The WBO and IBF European super-featherweight champion took a short-notice job against Jayro Fernando Duran (15-39-1) in Birmingham on Saturday and won all six rounds. That was his first outing since his fight with Jack Bateson was ruled a technical draw last December, after heads clashed, and sets up his title defence against unbeaten Royston Barney-Smith in Bournemouth on July 26.
