Close your eyes and you almost hear it: The masses clamoring around the booth with the first Jersey peaches and corn of the season, the dogs scarfing down non-GMO frozen pup treats from the booth on the corner, the discussion on the finer points of clover versus orange blossom honey.

    I’m hoping you’ll think beyond the necktie and get your dad something other than a stereotypical Father’s Day gift this year. I get it, though. As a dad myself, I understand we’re not the easiest people for whom to shop. Half of us, at least, want “nothing” for Father’s Day, and if we do have our eye on something, we’re probably not going to make a big fuss about it.

Throughout the summer, you can visit beer festivals at the Turtleback Zoo, neighborhood breweries and even Battleship NJ. A law change in 2024 enabled breweries in New Jersey to participate in more off-site events. The craft brewing scene is, in many ways, still in its infancy in New Jersey.
