THE north Queensland town of Ingham is a disaster zone with floodwaters inundating homes and businesses leaving one woman dead. Large parts of North Queensland are under threat and thousands are under evacuation orders as rain and flooding threatens the region. Investigations are underway into the death of a 63-year-old woman at Ingham on February 2 after a State Emergency Service vessel was assisting members of the public through flood waters when it struck a tree and flipped.

DOMINICAN Father Joseph Truong was remembered as a dedicated man of God by family, friends, his brothers in religious life and the wider Carina parish at his funeral Mass on January 9. Fr Troung died on December 22 after battling serious illnesses for many years. He was 65.
