Photo by Julio Aguilar/Getty Images The Yankees’ very frustrating losing streak came to an end on Thursday, as they knocked off the Angels in a Thursday matinee. Over the course of the six consecutive losses, the Yankees’ offense plated just six runs, which they single-handedly outscored in the 7-3 win that finally broke the losing run. Now, they’ll hope to carry that good momentum over into a series against the Orioles.

After being a member of the 2005 North Carolina Tar Heels national championship-winning men’s basketball team, Jawad Williams had a playing career that took him around the world, but did include some time in the NBA. Photo by Jim McIsaac/Getty Images The good news from this game is that the Yankees were not shut out again. The bad news is that is wasn’t that less disappointing than the previous games where they were. While the Yankees finally got on the scoreboard after a long time off it, the offense still managed just two runs on three hits. Ryan Yarbrough and the Yankees’ bullpen did a solid enough job, and would’ve done enough had the other aspects of the team not let them down.

USA TODAY-USA TODAY NETWORK If you were to think about the list of worst starts in Yankees history, your mind would probably go to the ones that you remember being the costliest in terms of importance. A pitcher going out and having a dud in a playoff game or another important matchup is more memorable than doing so in a mid-June game against a non-divisional opponent.

Stephen Lew-Imagn Images While we’re still over two months away from the start of college football season, we are starting to get into preparation season. One of the events of the summers months that has gained increasing prominence in recent years is the Manning Passing Academy, and this year, the North Carolina Tar Heels will be represented. Quarterbacks Max Johnson and Gio Lopez will both get to show their stuff at the annual gathering of some of the best QBs in the college game.
