Good Friday morning!There’s one month left in the gubernatorial primary, and Steven Fulop says he’s not going to bust the $8.7 million spending cap for publicly-financed candidates. But he’s cutting it really close. Fulop has spent about $8 million just on TV and digital advertising, according to AdImpact. That’s not including various other campaign expenses, like staff, polling and event space rental that aren’t among the few exceptions to the spending cap.

Good Thursday morning!NJ Spotlight News hosted a “conversation” last night with the three debate-eligible Republican gubernatorial candidates: State Sen. Jon Bramnick, former Assemblymember Jack Ciattarelli and former radio host Bill Spadea. It was more of an hour-long argument, and a particularly bitter one during the exchanges between Ciattarelli and Spadea. Fairly early on, after Spadea criticized Ciattarelli as an “insider,” Ciattarelli hit him over his fundraising practices.

Now, Gibbons is running for mayor as an independent against longtime incumbent David Mayer, aka Mayor Mayer, who’s New Jersey American Water’s director of government affairs.

Good Tuesday morning!A few months ago, I thought at least a couple Democrats running for governor would have dropped out by now. Now, with just over a month before Primary Day, about 51,000 Democrats have already cast ballots. And all six candidates are still in the race: Ras Baraka, Steve Fulop, Josh Gottheimer, Mikie Sherrill, Sean Spiller and Steve Sweeney. I haven’t heard any suggestion that one of them is getting ready to drop out. How has everyone managed to stick it out?
