    Good Wednesday morning!Democratic gubernatorial nominee Mikie Sherrill phoned Senate President Nick Scutari late last week after she learned of his proposal to limit the amount of time Cabinet members can serve without confirmation. Sherrill, perhaps not shockingly, didn’t like the idea of giving the Senate more leverage over the executive branch. But Scutari didn’t put up a fight. He agreed to put then never-formally introduced proposal aside — at least for now.

    Good Monday morning!The U.S. bombed Iran, and it’s hard to start any newsletter without a nod to the nation’s possible entanglement in a Middle East war whose justification involves the threat of weapons of mass destruction. But here in New Jersey we’re focused on the budget. There are no budget committee meetings scheduled for today in either house, and so far not for this week. But there will have to be.

Scutari’s proposal has not been formally introduced, according to the several people privy to these discussions I’ve talked to about it. But he’s tied it to budget negotiations.

    Good Wednesday morning!It does not appear Camden County Democrats are just going to lay down and let a ragtag trio of challengers take over the county committee in their biggest town. Cherry Hill Democrats congratulated “the members of the progressive party who have gained three seats on the Cherry Hill Democratic Committee” in a Friday on Facebook post.
