The 2025 Giro d’Italia is done—with Visma–Lease a Bike’s Simon Yates taking an incredible victory—and already the post-mortems have begun, notably on the part of Team UAE Emirates. Stage 20 delivered a stunning performance from Simon Yates, who stormed into the lead and claimed the pink jersey from UAE Team Emirates’ Isaac Del Toro. As Yates launched his attack, both Richard Carapaz and Del Toro hesitated, seemingly more focused on each other than the race unfolding ahead.

Cyclists in Portage la Prairie, Man., now have a smoother, safer way to get around thanks to new bike lanes completed along Saskatchewan Avenue. The city’s director of operations, Jocelyn Lequier-Jobin, confirmed the work is finished, with designated cycling infrastructure stretching from 4th to 18th Street. “From 4th to 8th, they’re separated by curbs, and then from 8th to 18th, they’re up on the boulevard with grass strips in between,” she told PortageOnline.

Simon Yates will be pretty in pink as the peloton rolls into the Eternal City for the final stage of the Giro d’Italia. The race draws to a dramatic close Sunday in the heart of Rome. But on Saturday, the 32-year-old attacked on the Finestre climb and soared into the pink jersey, vaulting from third to first.

The penultimate stage of this year’s Giro is anything but a formality. With 205km and 4,500m of climbing packed into a mountainous route from Pinerolo to Sestriere, the battle for the maglia rosa is far from settled. The first half of the stage is deceptively gentle, with rolling terrain and one early categorised climb at Corio, but things get serious after 100km. The Colle del Lys is long and steady, and it sets the tone for what’s to come: the brutal Colle delle Finestre.
