DEXTER, Mo. – Senior star Kale Clements scored a perfect 40 points as champion of four events, and the Ste. Genevieve girls won the Class 3, District 1 track and field title on Saturday. The Dragons had 53 points to spare over runner-up Herculaneum. Fredericktown stacked up fifth in the girls and boys divisions. Clements was fastest in the individual 400 and 800. Senior classmate Hollyn Zangaro claimed the 3200 win and was third in the 800.

The second-seeded Bulldogs scratched together three two-out singles in the home half of the opening frame, and edged Fredericktown 1-0 in a brisk semifinal clash on Thursday evening.
