Like every year, there are many questions for the Bucs heading into the new season. Near the top of the list is a question surrounding the team’s big offseason free agent signing – outside linebacker Haason Reddick. Reddick has a profile of a top pass rusher in this league with 59 career sacks, including a dominant span of 50.5 sacks in four straight seasons from 2020 to 2023. The problem is, last year Reddick recorded just one sack in 10 games during a jumbled season with the Jets.

Dvon J-Thomas will have to compete with those two players along with many others to try to find a spot on this team one way or another. With Vita Vea, Calijah Kancey and Logan Hall set in the lineup of Bowles’ 3-4 defense along with Greg Gaines as a top backup in the rotation, there are many other defensive tackles fighting for a way to make the roster. Veterans such as Mike Greene, C.J. Brewer, Adam Gotsis and Eric Banks are vying for the other two roster spots behind Vea, Kancey Hall and Gaines.

The Bucs have signed another player from their recent tryout over the weekend from rookie mini-camp. Fox Sports’ Greg Auman has reported that Tampa Bay has signed defensive tackle Dvon J-Thomas. He’ll get an opportunity to compete for a roster or practice squad spot during the offseason.

Bucs 2025 second-round pick Benjamin Morrison had a viral moment when Tampa Bay drafted the former Notre Dame cornerback. With everything getting documented in today’s day and age, Morrison was seen getting very emotional when on the phone with general manager Jason Licht and head coach Todd Bowles when they told him he was getting drafted. Bowles even had to tell him to calm down at one point.

The trio of Evans, Godwin and McMillan is solid, but adding a fourth big-time wide receiver like Emeka Egbuka into the mix elevates the receiving corps in a big way. Not to mention, there was a point during the 2024 season when both Evans and Godwin went down. While Mayfield did the best he could with what he had at the position, Tampa Bay did go 0-4 without those top two in the lineup. Egbuka does give a big boost to Mayfield and the offense.

The Bucs have been fast and furious signing their 2025 rookie draft class. After signing four players on Thursday, Tampa Bay announced on Friday that they have signed first round pick Emeka Egbuka to his rookie deal. Since Egbuka is the Bucs’ first round pick, he comes with a fifth year team option on the contract. With the signing of the former Ohio State wide receiver, that puts five of the six 2025 Tampa Bay draft picks signed.

The Bucs have announced via social media on Thursday evening that the Bucs have signed four of their draft picks from the 2025 NFL Draft. They are third round pick cornerback Jacob Parrish, fourth round pick outside linebacker David Walker, fifth round pick defensive lineman Elijah Roberts and seventh round wide receiver Tez Johnson. These are four year rookie contracts.

Inside linebacker Anthony Walker Jr. has worn 50, five and six in his career. Those numbers are all occupied along with zero through 10. If wants a traditional linebacker number between 50 and 59, he has the option of 52, 53, 56 and 59. Should he want a number in the 40s, he can go 42, 46 or 49. Other free agents Riley Dixon, Charlie Heck, Kindle Vildor and Damien Jennings will have a couple of options to choose from, too.
