The latest box office estimates for Captain America: Brave New World suggest the movie is tracking for an opening significantly lower than Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, which debuted on the same weekend in 2023. Via Deadline, Captain America: Brave New World is estimated to open to a 4-day President’s Day weekend of $95M+. Quantumania opened to a 4-day $120.3M and a $106.1M 3-day opening.

We get a first look at The Accountant 2 starring Ben Affleck and Jon Bernthal. The actors return as their respective characters Christian Wolff and his brother, Brax. The image comes via SXSW 2025 which takes place March 7 -15, as The Accountant 2 will be shown at the event among the headliners. The first movie was released in 2016 and with a budget of $44 million brought in over $155 million. If you like films like John Wick, you’ll like The Accountant.

It’s reported that presale tickets for Captain America: Brave New World are on par with that of Eternals, which opened to $71 million. Yeah, that is a bad thing. Eternals is considered one of the MCU’s biggest busts with a $402 million box office gross. There also won’t be an Eternals 2 , and recently it was learned the same producer behind Eternals and Captain America: Brave New World is exiting Marvel.

The Nielsen ratings for the week Episode 4 of Skeleton Crew was released are now available, and just like the previous three episodes, the fourth episode failed to crack the Nielsen charts. As I’ve pointed out on numerous occasions, Nielsen is the industry standard for ratings, and Disney+ automatically enables Nielsen tracking in its accounts. With four episodes now released, it seems likely that Skeleton Crew might never make the Nielsen charts—a first for Star Wars on Disney+.

Following my own thoughts on the recent rumor, I thought I would share what our very own Timelord thinks about the recent rumors surrounding Marvel’s Nova, the upcoming TV series coming to Disney+ that is currently in development. For those who may not know, Timelord has been a lifelong Nova fan. In fact, this site originally launched to help Marvel Comics promote their Marvel Cosmic brand, which included Nova (2007) and Guardians of the Galaxy (2008).

It’s learned there were plans to include a Jedi flashback scene in the Star Wars series, Skeleton Crew, with Arab actress Yasmine Al Massri playing the character. If you haven’t watched the final episode, spoilers follow. In Skeleton Crew, Jude Law’s Jod Na Nawood has force powers and is skilled with a lightsaber. In the final episode, Jod reveals he was trained by a Jedi whom he watched die in front of him. This led Jod on his path to becoming a pirate and such.

A new rumor raises red flags that Marvel’s upcoming Nova series may be some sort of woke take on present day commentary on the police and the military. Marvel going woke with Nova wouldn’t be a surprise if it’s anything similar to Feige’s plans following Infinity War. It’s known the upcoming Ironheart series is about gangsters turned activists set in Chicago (seriously).
