Starting this past Thursday night, the Alabama Crimson Tide baseball team was tasked with likely their toughest test on the road yet, a three-game series in Baton Rouge against the LSU Tigers. A Top 25 matchup according to the latest USA TODAY Sports College Baseball Coaches Poll, it was LSU however who got the best of the Crimson Tide, winning two-of-three games to take the series. Alabama did not go without making this series close either, starting Thursday night in Game 1.

Yet another former Alabama Crimson Tide football standout has signed a free agent deal this offseason with a NFL team, as, according to a report Friday afternoon from ESPN's Adam Schefter, tight end Irv Smith Jr. has re-signed with the Houston Texans on a one-year contract. Rejoining the Texans, Smith is now the sixth former Alabama player on Houston's roster, joined by John Metchie III, Cam Robinson, Will Anderson Jr., Christian Harris, and Henry To'oTo'o.

Announced on Tuesday afternoon, the Alabama Crimson Tide have been listed among the finalists for one of the top players currently available in the NCAA transfer portal, former Washington State Cougars guard Cedric Coward. According to On3's Joe Tipton, the Crimson Tide have been listed alongside the Duke Blue Devils, Florida Gators, Kansas Jayhawks, and Washington Huskies as the finalists. Coward is also expected to go through the NBA draft process.
