Let's get started with why Jasper National Park? Besides being the largest National Park in the Canadian Rockies, it is also the home of Marmot Basin, where you can ski in May, mountain bike the expansive trail network around the townsite of Jasper, and it is a really good place to see wildlife, as it has more elk than human residents. Everyone has classic cabin envy, and this place has over 800 that you can stay in.

The cutest puppies, pj clad kids and good cheer, make morning check in at the heli-pad for Dave Henry Lodge, a family affair. We always look forward to the return of the annual end of ski season tradition, earning turns, apres deck social time, and mountains of cheer. Dave Henry Lodge, fits that overused description of one of a kind, as this one is that in spades.

Mine stretches from early 1970s Seven Springs, Pennsylvania, where my sisters and I tore about, untethered from parental oversight for the first time, to Sugarbush, Vermont, 1984, where I lapped Upper FIS for an entire afternoon in a freezing rain, my legs stained blue for two days because I wore no shell over my jeans.
