Matchroom Boxing are set to announce the signing of 18-year-old amateur sensation Tiah Ayton. Bristol's Ayton made headlines at the age of 10 when she became a three-time Junior European and World kickboxing champion, as well as a Muay Thai World Open winner. Though she competes as a featherweight, Ayton, of Weston Warriors ABC, won the Haringey Box Cup in June 2024 at the 60kg lightweight limit, stopping her opponents in the semi-final and final.

Fernando 'Puma' Martinez survived a knockdown to retain his WBA junior-bantamweight title against a devastated Kazuto Ioka in their long-awaited rematch at the Ota City General Gymnasium in Tokyo. The scores read 114-113, 115-112, 117-110 all in favour of Martinez. The fight was streamed live on Abema TV in Japan. Last July, Martinez (18-0, 9 KOs) stunned Ioka (31-4-1, 16 KOs) at the Ryogoku Kokugikan to unify WBA and IBF 115-pound titles by unanimous decision.

Souleymane Cissokho had to do things the hard way in his 12-round WBC eliminator with Egidijus Kavaliauskas but ultimately came out on top by unanimous decision after surviving two knockdowns. Cissokho (18-0, 9 KOs) is now the mandatory challenger for Mario Barrios' WBC welterweight title after leaving the Centre de Conference de Sipopo in Equatorial Guinea with scorecards which read 114-112, 115-111 and 116-110 in his favour.
