    Burnley fans are waiting patiently for the club’s summer transfer business to kick into gear ahead of their Premier League return. As of yet, no new signings have been forthcoming, although four of last season’s loanees – Bashir Humphreys, Jaidon Anthony, Marcus Edwards and Zian Flemming – have all seen their loans turned permanent. Back in the top flight, the expectation may be that the Clarets can afford to splash the cash thanks to the millions brought in in TV revenue.

    Burnley owner Alan Pace is “days away” from completing a takeover of Spanish side Espanyol, according to reports in Spain. According to Mundo Deportivo, Pace – owner of the investment fund ALK Capital – has submitted an offer in the region of €180m (£154m) to acquire a majority stake. The intention, it’s claimed, is to integrate Espanyol into a multi-club model.

    Former Burnley chairman Mike Garlick is interested in taking over League Two outfit Cheltenham Town. The Robins have confirmed that Garlick, who currently owns two clubs on the continent, has entered into a period of exclusivity. Garlick left Burnley’s board in 2023 after 17 years at Turf Moor, including eight as club chairman during which time the Clarets twice won promotion to the Premier League.
