Cleburne firefighters cited an electrical malfunction in a refrigerator as the apparent cause of a March 31 garage fire. Firefighters responded to reports of a building fire at 5:41 p.m. in the 1700 block of Riverway Drive. Upon arrival firefighters found heavy black smoke pouring from the side door of the garage. Upon opening the garage door, more heavy smoke poured from the back to the front of the garage. Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire and left the doors open to ventilate the area.

Firefighters whose actions earlier this year helped save several peoples’ lives. Firefighters from both departments responded to a report of an unconscious person in a vehicle at the lake. Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office deputies already on scene were unable to revive the man.
