Ouray, Colorado – Tragedy struck the backcountry skiing community when Donald Moden Jr., a 57-year-old veteran skier, was found buried under an avalanche near Red Mountain Pass, a remote area in the Colorado Rockies. The incident occurred on January 7, 2025, while Moden and his wife were navigating the isolated terrain near the popular mountain town of Ouray.

Walsh, Colorado is a small town of just over 500 residents, hidden away on the southeastern plains, east of Trinidad and Springfield on Highway 160. One of the favorite places to eat and shop in this quaint location is the Walsh Community Grocery Store. Back in 2006 the town lost its grocery store. With bad storms at the end of 2006 and early 2007, the locals realized they needed a grocery store in Walsh!“Pulling together we all win.”Community members got together and got to work.
