    The United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee has requested that USA Badminton give up its status as the national governing body for the sport in the United States. USA Badminton announced the request in a letter to its members last week. It said in the announcement that the decision was made by the USOPC’s Compliance Review Group.

    Kannapolis, North Carolina, will host the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team for two games in the summer at Atrium Health Ballpark. The first game will be June 29 as the opener of the USA Baseball annual Stars vs. Stripes series. After contests in Cary and Fayetteville, North Carolina, the series goes back to Kannapolis on July 4 for a game between the Collegiate National Team Prospects and Appalachian League Select Team followed by postgame fireworks.
