The 2025 NFL draft is fast approaching and the Atlanta Falcons must find a few impact players if they're going to get better next season. The team was unable to make a major splash in free agency, instead filling holes with affordable free agents and re-signing a few depth players on defense. The Falcons aren't in great shape with the salary cap, mostly due to Kirk Cousins' disaster of a contract that he signed in 2024.

If the Atlanta Falcons don't select an edge rusher in the first round of the 2025 NFL draft, fans might finally lose their minds. The team continues to finish near the bottom of the league in sacks each year, ranking 31st last season with 31 total. The Falcons have heavily invested in their offense over the last four drafts while largely neglecting their defense. General manager Terry Fontenot has yet to select an offensive player in the first round since taking the job in 2021.

On the flip side, this year's draft class has some potential stars at the running back position. If someone like Boise State's Ashton Jeanty is available when Seattle is on the clock at pick No. 18, it could be tempting. However, even Jeanty would likely struggle to find room behind the Seahawks' current offensive line. After the draft, we will have a much better idea of which players could be worth exploring trades for.

The Seattle Seahawks have some shiny new pieces on offense, but their offensive line has arguably gotten worse since the season ended. The ground game was unimpressive as a whole in 2024, and the offensive line clearly played a role in that. Perhaps with a few additions to the offensive line in the 2025 NFL draft, the Seahawks can get their running game back on track.

As we close in on the 2025 NFL draft, the Atlanta Falcons are sitting tight with quarterback Kirk Cousins. The 36-year-old remains on the roster but a draft night trade isn't totally out of the question. With teams waiting on Aaron Rodgers to decide his future, Cousins' market is in decent shape. If the Falcons can get one of the QB-needy teams to give up a mid-to-late pick for Cousins in 2025, they could use it to add some much-needed depth.
