There are a few skills that are hard-wired into the brains of infants that are so fundamental, and so critical for survival, that they’re operative from the moment of birth — if not sooner. One of them is pattern recognition, which is how infants recognize their mother’s faces. Even the youngest child is capable of matching a new stimulus with an event that’s previously established in their memory, and alter their behavior accordingly. Of course animals do the same thing.

You won’t find many instances in modern life where there’s near-unanimous agreement on something. It doesn’t really matter what the issue is. You’re probably not going to find a consensus. There was a recent poll that supposedly showed that around a third of millennials believe the Earth is flat, for example. Whatever explains this phenomenon — whether it’s the Internet, drug use, a large-scale mental health crisis, or some combination of the three — it’s hard to deny that it exists.

It’s been a rather ignominious couple of weeks for liberal women on the internet. Of course it’s been an ignominious last several decades for liberal women in general — on the internet or otherwise. But these past couple of weeks have given us one viral moment after another where this demographic is thoroughly embarrassing itself. For the sake of brevity, I won’t even include all of the many videos of liberal women vandalizing Teslas and shrieking at their drivers.

We have now established, about a million different ways, that Democrats have no intention of learning anything substantive from their defeat in November. First there was the disastrous meeting to select new leadership at the DNC, which resembled a bad “American Idol” audition more than anything else. The various non-binary and BIPOC candidates spent all of their time singing and complaining about how oppressed they are, instead of reflecting in any way on how they just lost the election.

It’s always been the case that state media, no matter what country it’s in, tells you an awful lot about the state. Listen to North Korean state media for five minutes, and inevitably, the strict-looking anchorwoman will communicate a very clear message, which is that no criticism of Dear Leader is allowed. They might even pan to a crater or two, just to demonstrate what happened to the last guy who broke that rule.
