In my response, I seek to further explicate a central theme advanced by Professor Thimbleby: the need to more precisely operationalize AI when surveying attitudes and opinions—particularly among non-subject matter experts. The AI ecosystem is heterogeneous. Treating it as a monolith does us a disservice.
