IntroductionIn this report, we describe a small child with spontaneous pneumothorax who was transferred to a tertiary referral hospital and discovered to represent a classic presentation of a rare entity. CaseA 13-month-old male initially presented with respiratory distress. He had a fever of 38.9°C (102°F), a non-productive cough, and shortness of breath that had gradually worsened over the preceding week. There was no rash, cyanosis, nausea, vomiting or diarrhoea.
