FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- All Rise!Former Diamond Dog and Yankees superstar Aaron Judge has been named captain for Team USA in the 2026 World Baseball Classic. The announcement was made Monday morning alongside Team USA manager Mark DeRosa, who will be coaching the United States for the second straight WBC. Judge is the first Yankee since Derek Jeter to be captain for the squad. This is the first international tournament the former Diamond Dog will play in.

MADERA, Calif. (KFSN) -- The employee who was shot and killed at a Walgreens in Madera on Monday has been identified as Erick Velasquez. Police say the shooting happened at the location on Cleveland and Schnoor just after 9:30 pm. EDITOR'S NOTE: The video above is from a previous broadcast and will be updated. When police arrived, they found Velasquez inside the store, where he was pronounced dead.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A man has been hospitalized after being stabbed in southwest Fresno Thursday morning. Police say it happened at Kearney and Teilman just before 11:45 am, near the Fresno Chandler Executive Airport. Officers say an argument broke out between a group of people, which led to one of the men being stabbed at least once in the upper body. He was taken to Community Regional Medical Center. His condition has not been released.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Four people have been arrested in connection to a deadly shooting in central Fresno. Authorities have taken 20-year-old Uniese Brown, 20-year-old Demarion Hackett, 19-year-old Christopher Stanley and a teenager into custody. The shooting happened on Thanksgiving in 2024 on Pleasant and Fedora avenues. Three separate Shotspotter notifications totaled nearly 50 rounds.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Sunnyside High School in southeast Fresno will be closed for the day due to a campus-wide power outage. In a statement, the school is telling parents not to send their kids to the campus on Peach Avenue at Kings Canyon Road because they cannot be assisted. Other schools are still open, including CART.
