AIKEN — One of Aiken's most passionate advocates of historic preservation died May 27. William Madison "Bill" McGhee Jr., 88, died unexpectedly according to a death notice posted by Shellhouse-Rivers Funeral Home. He was a great man, father, father-in-law, grandfather, brother and cousin, his son, David, said on Facebook May 28. "I love him for the person he was and all the things he taught me over the years," McGhee continued.
